Hampden 5/6A girls to much for Elite in EMBL travel game

HAMPDEN - Sunday morning at the Reed's Brook School in Hampden, a balanced offense helped the Broncos 5/6 A girls pile up 58 points in a dominating 58-25 win over Eastern Elite in an EMBL travel basketball game.

Messalonskee dominates Brewer with a lopsided win

BREWER – The Messalonskee girls basketball team has struggled this season finding the rim causing them to go 2-3 to start the season. Thursday night in Brewer the real team showed up and the offense was closer to what we will be seeing coming from this team at the end of the season.

Brewer JV girls with home win over Messalonskee

BREWER – The Brewer girls junior varsity basketball team hosted Messalonskee of Oakland Thursday in a makeup game where the hosts handed the visitors a 39-29 loss.

Brewer girls pick up first win of season in overtime at Mt. Blue

FARMINGTON – The Brewer Witches girls' basketball team made its journey to Farmington to take on Mt. Blue and are riding home with smiles on their faces and a good 42-40 win in overtime.

The two teams were tied at 40-40 with time running out when Grace Robertson put up a floater with one second left in overtime for the win!!

DEFY nearly doubles up Brewer in 7-8th grade travel hoops EMBL

BREWER – The second game of the day featured 7-8th grade boys from Brewer and Down East Family YMCA Travel. The Brewer boys were no match for the Down East boys falling 65-33.

Brewer outlasts MDI in EMBL 7-8th grade girls hoop action

BREWER –  In the first game of the day at Brewer High School for the Eastern Maine Basketball League the Brewer 7-8th grade girls hosted MDI holding off an exciting comeback attempt for the 48-41 win for the Brewer girls.

Bangor girls sweep Brewer in an afternoon cross-town rivalry

BREWER – The Brewer girls hosted Bangor Saturday afternoon where the Witches fell to the Rams in both the junior varsity (42-33) and the varsity (54-39), games.

Red Riots JV girls hold off late Brewer rally for win

BREWER - Saturday morning at Brewer High School, the Orono girls JV team held off a couple of second half rally's by the Brewer 1st team to head back home with a 35-30 victory over the Witches.

Hampden 7/8A boys pick up come from behind win

HAMPDEN - Sunday morning at the Reed's Brook School in Hampden, the Broncos 7/8A boys overcame an eight point half time deficit to bounce back to a 52-46 victory over the Brewer Witches in an Eastern Maine Basketball League travel game.

Hampden Academy takes two in varsity doubleheader at Brewer

BREWER — The Brewer basketball program, boys and girls varsity, hosted Hampden Academy Friday night with the Broncos traveling home with a pair of wins under their belts. The girls' game was a 47-37 win for Hampden while the boys game was 68-56 in Hampden's favor.

Chargers girls complete sweep of Wagner with dominating victory

GLENBURN - The Lady Chargers had three players score in double digits to lead them to a convincing 48-27 win over Samuel L. Wagner in a girls "A" team middle school game at the Glenburn School on Thursday night. Glenburn improved to 4-0 with the win, while Wagner falls to 1-2 with the loss.

Glenburn boys cruise to victory over Clippers

GLENBURN - Thursday afternoon at the Glenburn School, the Chargers proved to be to strong for the Samuel L. Wagner boys as Glenburn cruised to a 63-28 victory over the Clippers in a middle school match up. Glenburn improved to 3-1 on the young season, while Wagner fell to 0-3 with the loss.

EMBL: Brewer 7-8th "A" comes from behind to overpower Glenburn 7-8th "A"

BREWER — Brewer High School was the location for this Eastern Maine Basketball League (EMBL) game between the visiting Glenburn 7/8th grade "A" team and the same from Brewer. There were six games on tap today as there are most Sunday's.

Broncos 3rd/4th grade girls pull out late victory over Brewer

BREWER - Sunday morning at Brewer High School, the Hampden Broncos came back from a 2-point first-half deficit to break a tie game with the winning basket coming with under one minute left in the game in a 19-17 victory over the Brewer Witches in an Eastern Maine Basketball League girls travel game.

Strong second half sends Brewer boys past Nokomis in season opener

BREWER — The final game of the evening at Brewer High School featured the young Brewer varsity boys taking on the visiting Nokomis of Newport and completing the sweep of three games on the night. In a game that started as a battle for both teams, it ended with Brewer getting into more of a flow defensively leading to a solid 67-41 season-opening win.

Youthful Hawks breeze past Foxcroft Academy girls in season opener

HERMON - Two very young teams hit the hardwood on Friday night in Hermon, and the Lady Hawks proved to be the more experienced squad as they cruised to a 74-28 season opening victory over Foxcroft Academy in a Class B North match up.

Campbell, Coombs lead Hermon JV girls to victory

HERMON - Friday night at the Hawks Nest inside Hermon High School, Sadie Campbell and Faith Coombs scored in double digits to lead the Hawks junior varsity girls to a season opening 43-31 victory over the Ponies of Foxcroft Academy.

Balanced scoring leads Brewer JV boys over Nokomis

BREWER — In game two of the night, the Brewer JV boys team hosted the Nokomis of Newport Warriors and used a balanced scoring attack with eight of nine players putting points on the board for the 55-34 win.

BREWER – The Old Town Rec 7-8th Grade girls "A" team took on Brewer's 7-8th girls "A" team Sunday at Brewer High School and traveled home on the back of a 53-17 win.

BREWER – The Bangor 7-8th boys "A" team continued their undefeated season Sunday with a 43-35 win over the Brewer 7-8th boys "A" team at Brewer High School.
