Balanced scoring leads Brewer JV boys over Nokomis

BREWER — In game two of the night, the Brewer JV boys team hosted the Nokomis of Newport Warriors and used a balanced scoring attack with eight of nine players putting points on the board for the 55-34 win.

Brewer led the entire game taking an 11-9 first-quarter lead and a 34-23 halftime advantage. Nokomis outscored the Witches in the third quarter leaving Brewer with a 38-29 lead heading into the final stanza where Brewer outscored the Warriors 17-5 to clinch the win.

Evan Nadeau, Brock Flagg, Cam Hughes, and Finn Wardwell had nine points each; Lenox Cummings, seven; Ryder Goodwin and Caleb Seymour, five each; and Evan Glass, two.

The Witches were 16-of-24 (67 percent) from the foul line. The team knocked down seven 3-point baskets, Cummings with two; and Nadeau, Flagg, Hughes, Wardwell, and Seymour, one each.

For Nokomis, Owen Upton had nine points; Grady Hartsgrove, six; Mason Hopkins and Carter Rice, four each; Cody Chretien, three; and Owen Fitts, two.

The Warriors were 2-of-6 (33 percent) from the charity stripe. They had two 3-pointers, one each from Upton and Chretien.
