St. George girls, Mainely Lobster boys capture 22nd annual Mussel Ridge Hoops tournament

TENANTS HARBOR – The St. George school was filled to capacity all weekend long as the St. George Recreation Department held its 22nd annual Mussel Ridge Hoops Tournament for 3rd and 4th-grade boys and girls.

Glenburn boys claim 5/6 tournament championship

GLENBURN - Sunday evening at the Glenburn School, Brandon Butterfield and Reese Kenney scored in double digits and Andrew Day pulled down near double digits in rebounds to help the host Glenburn Chargers pick up a hard fought 39-33 win to claim the Glenburn Rec 5th/6th grade boys tournament championship over Foxcroft.

5th/6th Grade boys hit the hardwood in final Glenburn Rec Tourney

GLENBURN - In the final of four Glenburn Rec basketball tournaments, the 5th/6th grade boys hit the hardwood Saturday morning. Teams competing in the tournament include Madison, Medomak, MDI (2 teams) , Hermon, Cushing, Foxcroft, and host Glenburn.

Jr Warriors knock off Caribou to claim Glenburn Rec 3/4 boys tournament championship

GLENBURN - The Caribou Vike Tykes had no answer for the Jr Warriors Ace Flagg, as he posted double digit points and rebounds to help lead Newport to a 34-17 victory in the Glenburn Rec 3rd-4th grade boys basketball tournament on Sunday at the Glenburn School.

Glenburn Rec 3/4 grade boys tournament off and running

GLENBURN - Saturday morning at the Glenburn School, the Glenburn Rec kicked off their 3/4 boys basketball tournament with some pool play games. Teams included in the tournament are Caribou, Ellsworth (two teams), host team Glenburn, Hampden, Hermon, Newport, and Old Town Rec.

It's A First; Vinalhaven takes home State Championship and Gold Ball

BANGOR  – The Lady Vikings of Vinalhaven are the new Class D girls champions after defeating Northern Class D champ Shead at the Cross Insurance Center 55-44 Saturday afternoon.

Oceanside grapplers host three team meet

ROCKLAND – The Oceanside middle school wrestling team played host to Mt. View and Bucksport middle school Wednesday, March 1, in a three-team Pine Tree League meet held at Oceanside high school.
