Oceanside girls too much for Mt. View in preseason tournament hoops play

OLD TOWN – The Oceanside girls basketball team and the Mount View Mustangs, made the trip up to Old Town for the 1st Annual Old Town Athletic Hall of Fame Basketball Tournament held at Old Town High School.

Lausier, Caulkins lead Glenburn 5/6 girls to win over Ellsworth

GLENBURN - Mallory Lausier and Emily Caulkins each scored in double digits to lead the Glenburn 5/6B girls to a 50-15 win over DEFY-Ellsworth in an Eastern Maine Basketball League travel basketnall game in Glenburn on Saturday morning.

Lady Broncos cruise past Hermon in preseason contest

HERMON - Tuesday night at the Hawks Nest inside Hermon High School, the Lady Broncos of Hampden Academy jumped out to a 9-0 start and never looked back as they went on to defeat Hermon 48-30 in a Class A and Class B preseason girls game.

Gilmore leads Brewer 5/6 girls past Holbrook

BREWER – The Brewer 5/6 girls B team held off a late run by the Holbrook 5/6 girls Sunday evening with a 35-27 win.

Hermon late game surge leads to victory over Glenburn

GLENBURN - Sunday morning in Glenburn, the Hermon 5th-6th grade boys travel team managed to pull away mid way through the fourth quarter to pull out a 40-31 victory over the Chargers of Glenburn in an Eastern Maine Basketball League travel game.

Hermon boys hold off a feisty Oceanside in preseason matchup

HERMON – The Hermon High School boys basketball team hosted a four-team tournament Saturday with the opener between Hermon and Oceanside of Rockland. The Hawks held onto the lead all the way but had to fight off a very determined Mariners team to capture the 52-44 win.

Brewer girls with a hard fought win over John Bapst in preseason tip off

BREWER – The Brewer girls basketball team hosted John Bapst in the second game of the Frederick "Smokey" Lawrence Memorial preseason tournament and had to fight from behind after the first half to capture a 24-20 win.

Bangor 7/8A girls cruise past Glenburn in EMBBL match up

GLENBURN - Saturday afternoon at the Glenburn School, Lilly Chandler knocked down 21 points to lead the Bangor Rams to a 56-34 win over the Glenburn Chargers in a 7th-8th grade girls Eastern Maine Basketball League game.

Brewer boys overpower visiting John Bapst in 7th Annual Smokey Lawrence Memorial Tournament opener

BREWER – The 7th Annual Frederick "Smokey" Lawrence Memorial Preseason basketball tournament got off to a hot start Saturday morning with the Crusaders of John Bapst fell to a ramped-up Witches team 70-21.

HERMON - Sunday afternoon at Hermon Middle School, Levi Scripture and Corban Reed scored 12 points each to lead the Hermon 3rd/4th grade boys A team to a 59-21 route of MDI.

Gallop scores two in Hermon Class B North semifinal win

BANGOR - Saturday morning at the John P. Boucher Soccer Field on the campus of Husson University, Sidney Gallop scored two first-half goals to lead the No. 1 Hermon Hawks to a 2-0 victory over the No. 4 Presque Isle Wildcats in a Class B North girls semifinal game.
