Tardif sparks Wildcats comeback for Glenburn Rec 3/4 girls championship

GLENBURN - Sunday afternoon at the Glenburn School, Sadi Tardif sparked the Presque Isle Wildcats to a come from behind 17-15 victory over the Gardiner Tigers to claim the Glenburn Rec Invitational 3rd/4th grade girls basketball tournament championship.

Glenburn Rec 3/4 girls tourney hits the hardwood

GLENBURN - Saturday morning the Glenburn Rec kicked off another invitational tournament, this week featuring the 3rd and 4th grade girls. Participants include (Pool A) Corinth, Hermon, Lawrence, Old Town Y, (Pool B) Brewer, Presque Isle, Gardner, and host team Glenburn.

Hermon pulls away late in semifinal win over Winslow

BANGOR- Keenan Marseille scored 18 points to lead the Hermon Hawks boys basketball team to a 57-32 win over Winslow in a Maine Principals’ Association class B semifinal game played Wednesday night at the Cross Insurance Center.

Wheaton leads Wildcats in semifinal upset over Hermon

BANGOR, Me- Emily Wheaton, coming off a 36 point performance in the Presque Isle quarterfinal win, continued her stellar play by scoring 35 points to lead the Wildcats to a 55-52 upset win over top seeded Hermon in a Class B semifinal girls matchup Wednesday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center.

Winslow girls roll over John Bapst and into regional final


BANGOR, Me- Haley Ward scored 20 points to lead the Winslow Black Raiders over the John Bapst Crusaders 39-26 in a regional girls semifinal Class B game played Wednesday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center.

Old Town Rec claims Glenburn Rec 5/6 Girls tourney championship

GLENBURN - After rolling through the competition during pool play on Saturday and again Sunday morning, the Old Town Rec girls finished the 5/6 girls tournament with a perfect 5-0 record and the tournament championship.

Opening day for Glenburn Rec 5/6 Girls tourney

GLENBURN - On Saturday morning at the Glenburn Elementary School, the Glenburn Rec 5th and 6th grade girls travel basketball tournament got under way. In the opening games of the day, Lawrence defeated Holbrook, Oakfield knocked of MDI-White, host team Glenburn fell to MDI-Green, and Old Town Rec cruised to victory over Augusta.

Glenburn Rec annual travel tournaments ready to go

GLENBURN - On Saturday morning at the Glenburn Elementary School, the Glenburn Rec begins it's annual basketball tournaments for 3rd/4th grade boys and girls and 5th/6th boys and girls. The tournaments, which have been going on for nearly 20 years, begin with the 5/6 girls on Saturday, February 17 and 18th and end with the 5/6 boys on Saturday, March 10th and 11th. In between are the 3rd/4th girls on February 14 and 25, and the 3rd/4th boys on March 3rd and 4th.

Old Town edges Hermon in Unified basketball

HERMON - Tuesday night at the Hawks Nest on the campus of Hermon High School, the Old Town Coyotes got 34 points from Chris Colson and managed to hold off Hermon in double overtime for a 71-69 unified basketball victory.

Brewer stuns Camden Hills with strong second half

ROCKPORT – Games like this one are the reason we play high school sports. On any given night, it does not matter who is supposed to be the better team, who is higher in the standings. What matters is who comes to play, who wants it more, and Tuesday night the Witches of Brewer High School were that team.

Brewer JV boys take home hard fought win over Camden Hills

ROCKPORT – The Camden Hills boys JV team hosted Brewer Tuesday evening in a Class A North matchup with the Witches taking a 53-48 win in a battle that lasted for 32 minutes.

Penobscot Valley Middle League "B" quarterfinals in the books

GLENBURN - Saturday morning at the Glenburn Community School, the Penobscot Valley Middle League "B" team tournament quarterfinals got underway for both the boys and girls divisions. In the boys division, the teams are ranked as follows: No. 1 Holbrook, No. 2 Orrington, No. 3 Caravel, No. 4 Glenburn, No. 5 Orono, No. 6 Wagner, No. 7 Milford. The seedings for the girls division is No. 1 Orrington, No. 2 Holbrook, No. 3 Wagner, No. 4 Caravel, No. 5 Orono, and No. 6 Glenburn.

ROCKLAND – The Mid-Coast Youth Basketball league recently finished up the 2017-18 regular season and are now into the single elimination playoffs to decide a league champion.
