There were never any big leads in this game, nor any letup from either side as the two talented JV teams battled from start to finish.
Brewer took a 13-8 first quarter lead but Camden tied the score at 21-21 at the half. The two teams battled back and forth in the third quarter with Brewer holding a 1-point, 37-36 lead heading into the final stanza. Despite going only 3-of-9 from the foul line in the final quarter Brewer was able to hold off the Windjammers for the win.
Scoring for Brewer was Dylan Huff with 15 points; Trevor Pearson 10; Gavin Carr nine; Kyle Goodrich six; Kody Doak and Justin Nutter five each; Aaron Beaulieu two; and Taylor Tindall one.
Brewer was 18-of-25 (72 percent) from the foul line and they had one 3-point basket from Carr.
For Camden Hills, Jeremy Fraser with 20 points; Jon Runnion-Bareford nine; Aiden Schecter seven; Obie Miller and Kelly Sabanty three each; and Matt Nickerson, Andrew Proscia, and Jacob Knowlton two each.
The Windjammers were 8-of-22 (36 percent) from the foul line and they had four 3-point baskets, two from Fraser, and one each from Schecter and Sabanty.
Camden Hills will travel to Morse of Bath for their last game of the season Thursday, Feb. 8 while Brewer will host Mt. Blue Thursday in their final game.
