It is preseason, but the talk around the high school basketball courts is that Brewer will be very good this year. If the first scrimmage of the season is any indication, fans are in for a fun season.

Brewer had five players in double figures led by freshman Brady Saunders with 15 points; Kyle Goodrich added 11; Trevor Pearson, Aaron Newcomb, and Dylan Huff 10 each; Ryder Goodwin six; Gavin Carr five; and Lenox Cummings three.

Brewer had eight 3-pointers, two each from Newcomb, Huff, and Saunders; one each from Goodrich and Goodwin. The Witches were 12 of 18, (67 percent), from the foul line.

John Bapst did not get their rosters in to be printed in the tournament flyer. We were able to get last names only. McDonald led the Crusaders with eight points; Chadwick and Kimball had three each; Mitchell, Sockbeson, and Crawley two each; and Rice with one.

John Bapst had two three's, one each from McDonald and Kimball. They were 5 of 11, (45 percent), from the foul line.
