Lausier, Caulkins lead Glenburn 5/6 girls to win over Ellsworth

GLENBURN - Mallory Lausier and Emily Caulkins each scored in double digits to lead the Glenburn 5/6B girls to a 50-15 win over DEFY-Ellsworth in an Eastern Maine Basketball League travel basketnall game in Glenburn on Saturday morning.

Glenburn opened the game with an 8-2 run and closed the first quarter with a 12-4 lead. The Chargers put the game away early in the second quarter, going on a 9-0 run to take a 21-4 lead with 3:23 left in the half. The Lady Chargers closed out the half on a 6-1 run to take a 27-5 lead into the break.

Glenburn went on to out score the Eagles 23-10 over the second half for the 35 point margin of victory. 

Lausier scored a game high 13 points and Caulkins had 12 points to pace the Chargers. Also scoring was Grace Labree with eight points, Eve Wiles and Kaylee Folsom each scored six points, and Megan Guy added five points. Glenburn went 2-for-4 from the free throw line.

Providing the scoring for Ellsworth was Emma Frost with six points, Bristol Parritt with four points, Allie Bivins with three, and Rebecca Falabella chipped in with two points. The Eagles went 1-for-3 from the charity stripe.
