Caribou wins 3rd/4th grade Glenburn Rec tournament
GLENBURN - It took a whole quarter to get going for Caribou, but they eventually built a lead and held on for a 21-16 victory over Ellsworth to claim the 2017 Glenburn Rec 3/4 girls championship on Sunday afternoon at the Glenburn School.

Vinalhaven girls snap 34 year championship drought with win over Forest Hills
AUGUSTA – The No. 2 Vinalhaven girls basketball team hosted No. 5 Forest Hills Saturday afternoon in a Class D South Regional Championship matchup with the Vikings taking a 61-45 win, thus punching their ticket to the State Class D Championship game against Class D North Shead, Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

GLENBURN - Saturday morning at the Glenburn School, the Glenburn Rec 3rd/4th grade girls basketball tournament got underway with opening day pool play. Ellsworth, who sent two teams to the tournament, Caribou, and Newport all picked up wins over the first four games.

Orono boys get by Hermon to reach regional final
BANGOR- The Orono Red Riots boys basketball team are playing their best at the perfect time. The Red Riots went on an 11-0 run and earned a 52-41 win over Hermon in a Maine Principals’ Association class B semifinal game on Wednesday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center.

Swanson, Phelps lead MDI into regional final
BANGOR - MDI
got a big first quarter from Andrew Phelps to build a lead, and then a
big third quarter from Riley Swanson to help extend a lead, helping the

Lawrence claims championship in Glenburn Rec 5/6 girls tourney
GLENBURN - After being knocked out of the 2016 Glenburn Rec 5th/6th grade girls basketball tournament in the semifinals, the Lawrence Bulldogs returned for the 2017 tournament a bigger, stronger, and more talented team and won the championship with a 29-17 victory over DEFY-Ellsworth.

GLENBURN - Saturday morning at the Glenburn School, the Glenburn Rec opened their four weekend travel basketball tournaments beginning with the 5th and 6th grade girls. This years participants include Houlton, Bangor, Lawrence, Hampden, Woodland, Holden, Ellsworth, and host Glenburn.

Reardon sparks Red Devils to boys championship win
GLENBURN - Ashton Reardon scored eight points in the fourth quarter as the No. 1 Holbrook boys expanded a 2-point third quarter lead into a six point margin of victory with a 43-37 win over No. 2 Glenburn to claim the Penobscot Valley Middle League B Division Championship.

ROCKLAND – In a game moved up a night because of predicted weather, the Oceanside Mariners varsity team hosted Belfast Monday in a game that was all Mariners almost from start to finish with a 79-47 win.
