Oceanside JV boys steamroll past Belfast

ROCKLAND – Monday evening the Oceanside boys basketball teams entertained Belfast in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference matchup where the Mariners captured a 62-24 win.

Oceanside lead all the way,16-6 after one-quarter, 31-15 at the half and 50-20 heading into the final stanza.

Scoring was a team effort for the Mariners with 14-of-16 players putting points up on the board. Josh Peaco led the Mariners with 14 points; Amos Anderson 10; Hunter Davis six; Jock Lombardo and Jaden Martin five each; Jack Freeman four; Brett Start, and Dustin Cote three each; and Trevor Reed, Silas Miller, Zach Cody, Logan Sheridan, Isiah Millay, and Leo Ried two each.

The Mariners were 4-of-8 (50 percent) from the foul line. They knocked down four 3-pointers, two from Davis; and one each from Start and Cote.

For Belfast, Andrew Ackles had eight points; Max Lewis five; Blow three; and Evan Porter, Issac Bernosky, Wilder Magruder, and Perry two each.

The Lions had one 3-pointer from Blow.
