Witches continue to rule, JV stops Camden Hills

ROCKPORT – The Brewer Witches boys basketball team had a sweep on the mind after the junior varsity boys handed Camden Hills a 57-47 loss on their home court.

The Witches came out strong and took a 16-11 first-quarter lead but Camden fought back and closed the lead to 21-20 at the halftime break. By the end of the third quarter of play, Brewer had built their lead back to five, 38-33 heading into the final stanza. Despite a compelling effort from the Windjammers, it was not enough as Brewer held on for the win.

Scoring for Brewer was, Jaycob Miller with 14 points; Trevor Pearson 10; Colby Miller eight; Cameron Monroe seven; Connor Roope six; Max Perkins five; Nate Laskey three; and Season Neal and Ethan Hesseltine two each.

The Witches were 3-of-9 from the foul line and they had four 3-pointers, two from Roope, and one each from Laskey and Perkins.

For Camden Hills, Ionut Lodge had 12 points; Zach Markowitz 11; Michael Kremin eight; Kerry Sabanty and Michael McGeady six each; and Eric Glaser and Ethan Ford two each.

Camden Hills was 4-of-6 from the foul line and they knocked down five 3-pointers, two each from Lodge and Kremin and one from Markowitz.
