Thursday night at Brewer High School, the Hermon JV girls out scored the Witches 32-11 in the first and fourth quarters to take a 41-29 victory back home as Rachel Wickett led the way for the Hawks with a game high 13 points.

Hermon opened the game with a 16-2 first quarter as Brooke Gallop led the Hawks with seven points in the period. Brewer got the advantage over Hermon in the second and third quarters out scoring the Hawks 18-9 to pull within five points of the Hawks heading into the final quarter. Five different Hermon players got into the fourth quarter scoring with none of them scoring more than four points to pull away with a 16-9 period for the 12 point win.
Joining Wickett in scoring for Hermon was Veronica Chichette with eight points, Braelynn Wilcox (7), Brooke Gallop (6), Izey Byram (4), Kara Pelletier (2), and Kiersta Fairbrother (1).
The Hawks had three 3-point baskets, two by Wilcox and one from Gallop, and they went 12-for-21 (57 percent) from the free throw line.
Scoring for Brewer was Hannah Snowdeal with a team high 12 points, Gabby Roberts with seven points, Kate Brydges with six points, and both Olivia Melvin and Taylor Grant with two points each.
The Witches had two 3-point baskets, both from Snowdeal, and they went 3-for-5 (60 percent) from the charity stripe.
