Reeds Brook 7/8 girls' hold off Brewer for an exciting win (VIDEO ADDED)

 BREWER – The Brewer Community School girls "A" team hosted Reeds Brook of Hampden to an Eastern Maine Middle School League game. This was an exciting game as it looked early like this was going to be a blowout that soon turned into a back and forth game with Reeds Brook coming out on top 38-35.

Reeds Book took a 10-0 run to open the game and outscored Brewer 15-5 in the first quarter. Brewer fought back in the second with a 10-6 score to make it 21-15 at the half for the Rebels. The two teams battled evenly in the third quarter with both teams scoring nine points. With a 30-24 lead the Rebels headed into the final quarter where the Witches outscored Reeds Brook 11-8 falling just short as time ran out on them. 

Z. Higgins had a game high 19 points for Reeds Brook. S. Smith added eight, K. Adams seven, and A. Gregor and L. Rice two each. First Names were not provided. Reeds Book was just 1-of-6 (17 percent) from the foul line. 



For Brewer, Olivia Gilmore led the Witches with 11 points, Abbie Flagg 10, Maddie Shaw eight, and Reece McKenney seven. 

Brewer was 7-of-13 (54 percent) from the charity stripe. They had one long distance basket from Gilmore, the only 3-pointer of the game.
