Brewer 5/6B girls cruise past Holbrook in EMBBL action

BREWER - Sunday morning at Brewer High School, the Brewer 5/6B girls showed their dominance over the Holbrook Red Devils as they cruised to a 57-15 win in an Eastern Maine Basketball League travel game.

The Witches put the game away in the first half as Rylee Bailey, Marlaina Roberts, and Alexis Poland  combined for 19 points as Brewer out scored Holbrook 27-5. 

The second and final half would be no different from the first half except for the main contributors. Lilly Clarke, Maggie Robichaud, and Maddie O'Donnell of Brewer combined to score 20 points to lead the Witches to a 30-10 score in the half, resulting in the 42 point margin of victory.

Clarke scored a game high 10 points to lead Brewer in scoring, and Poland added nine points. Roberts, Bailey, Robichaud, and O'Donnell each netted eight points, while Ella Glass and Harper Muncey both chipped in with two points. The Witches went 1-for-4 (25 percent) from the free throw line.

Amelia Turner topped Holbrook in scoring with seven points, and CC Higgins added five points. Katie Strober scored two points, and Kelsie Young added one free throw for one point. The Red Devils went 7-for-20 (35 percent) from the charity stripe.
