HERMON – The Hermon softball team hosted Hampden Academy in a cross-town, cross-division game won by the visiting Broncos 5-1.

Class A Hampden goes to 6-2 with the win while Class B Hermon falls to 3-3 with the loss.
Hampden's Danielle Masterson again dominated in the circle, going seven innings, allowing one hit, one run, and four walks, while striking out 13 batters.
Hermon's Katie Fowler went five innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on 11 hits and did not walk a batter. She had three strikeouts. G. Kelley pitched the final two for the Hawks allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Offensively for Hampden, Maya Brown (2 singles, run); Allee Wellman (single); Masterson (single, run, rbi); Neal (single, HR, run, two RBI's); Meaghan Delahanty (2 singles, run); Carlee Chute (2 singles, double, run); and Emma Chute (double, two rbis).
Cam Neal hit a two run bomb in the fifth inning to give Hampden a 5-0 lead. C. Chute had a good night at the plate with three hits. One a drive over the left fielders head for a double.
For Hermon who was held to just one hit, it was a double from Lyndsee Reed that came after Faith Coombs walked, stole second with a terrific slide to avoid the tag. Coombs then scored on the double.
The Bronco's will host Skowhegan Wednesday, May 11 and then have three on the road with Lewiston, Camden Hills, and Bangor.
Hermon starts a five game road streak starting with Nokomis Tuesday, May 10, at 4 p.m.
