BREWER – The junior varsity girls opened the night with an exciting game that Nokomis took control of in the second half for the 46-42 win over the host Witches.

The young Witches led all the way until the fourth quarter before falling. They took a 19-10 first quarter lead and turned that into a 29-16 halftime advantage. However, the Warriors had other ideas and came out of the halftime break with a 17-6 third quarter to cut the lead to 35-33 Brewer. In the final stanza the Warriors continued to roll outscoring the Witches 13-7 for the 46-42 final.
Nokomis took its first lead of the game with 4:29 left in regulation 39-37 and while the scored was tied a few times the Warriors full court press held the Witches at bay late to capture the win.
Scoring for Brewer were, Hannah Snowdeal with 13 points; Brooklyn Fick 10; Kate Brydges seven; Olivia Melvin five; Gabby Roberts three; and Averi Nichols and Taylor Grant two each.
Brewer was just 6-of-16 (38 percent) from the foul line. The Witches knocked down four 3-pointer's, three from Snowdeal and one from Roberts.
For Nokomis, Alaina Donohue and Emma Hodgdon had 13 points each; Addison Hawthorne 12: Evalynn Littlefield four; and Eliya Drummond three.
The Warriors were 7-of-15 (47 percent) from behind the charity stripe and the had two 3-pointers, one each from Donohue and Drummond.
