Littlefield, Wilkerson lead Brewer Frosh boys to win over Hermon

BREWER - Thursday afternoon at Brewer High School, Logan Littlefield and Tyler Wilkinson both scored in double digits to help the Witches cruise past the Hermon Hawks 55-31 in a boys Freshman matchup.

Brewer opened the game with a 16-8 first quarter, as Liam Poland topped the Witches in the first period with all seven of his game points. Wilkerson would score five in the second quarter as the Witches out scored the Hawks 12-8 to take a 28-16 lead into the half time break.

Littlefield added eight of Brewer's 10 points in the third period as the Witches once again topped the Hawks 10-7. Brewer had their biggest quarter in the game in the fourth as Wilkerson scored eight points to lead Brewer to a 17-8 final period.

Logan Littlefield scored a game high 14 points to top the Witches, while Wilkerson added 13 points in the game. Reese Smith and Poland each had seven points, Anderson Clifford scored five, and Ethan Levett added four points. Ryan Edgecomb and Blake Littlefield each had two points, and Jacob Towner chipped in with one point.

Brewer had three baskets from behind the arc, two by Wilkerson and one by Poland, and they went 4-for-12 (33 percent) from the free throw line.

Chase Whitehouse scored eight points and Maddox Kinney seven points to top Hermon in scoring. Jacob Gawrych and Brayden Ladd each added four points, while Andrew Metzger, Adam Pelletier, and Greyson Hanlon each had two points.

Hermon had no long range baskets, and they shot just 1-for-8 (12.5 percent) from behind the charity stripe.
