Loring leads OTO YMCA girls to victory over Brewer in EMBBL 7/8A girls contest

BREWER - Taylor Loring was the lone player to score in double digits as she sparked the OTO YMCA to a 44-32 win over Brewer in an Eastern Maine Basketball League 7/8A girls contest Sunday afternoon at Brewer High School.

OTO Y held just a slim 3-point lead (21-18) over Brewer after the first half final buzzer. Loring scored nine of her game high 15 points in the second half to spark OTO to a 23-14 second half score to give them the 12 point margin of victory over the Witches.

Joining Loring in scoring for OTO was Rylee Molten with nine points and Reagan King with eight points, Karina Dummond and Taylor Madden with four points each, Natalie Fournier with two points, and both Sophie Morgan and Karly Buckwalker chipping in with one point each.

Old Town - Orono had two 3-point baskets, one each by Loring and King, and they went 10-for-16 (63 percent) from behind the foul line.

Gabby Chasse and Olivia Gilmore led the Witches in scoring with nine and six points respectively. Ainsley Goodwin and Sarah Snowdeal each scored four points, and Maddie Shaw added three points. Rounding out the scoring was Carmen King, Reece McKenney, and Abbie Flagg with two points each.

Brewer had two 3-point baskets, one each by Chasse and Snowdeal, and they shot just 4-for-14 (29 percent) from the charity stripe.
