Ten 3-point baskets from five players was the story of the day. Eight of the nine players on the Brewer team scored in the game and four of the eight scored in double figures.
Brewer goes to 8-5 with the win while Mt. Blue falls to 4-8. Brewer will travel to Camden Hills for a game Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The Witches jumped out to a commanding 23-12 first-quarter lead and never looked back. They took a 55-28 lead into the halftime break and finished the third quarter with a comfortable 77-42 advantage and cruised through the fourth quarter for the win.
Scoring for Brewer was Trevor Pearson with a game-high 22 points; Huff 15; Colby Smith and Brady Saunders 14 each; Aaron Newcomb nine; Ryan Goodwin eight; Kyle Goodrich four; and Gavin Carr two.
The Witches were 10-of-12 (83 percent) from the foul line and as stated before they nailed 10 3-pointers, three each from Huff and Newcomb, two from Saunders, and one each from Pearson and Smith.
For Mt. Blue, Jacob Farnham had 13 points; Camden Phillips nine; Brady Shamba eight; Zack Poisson and Hunter Meeks six each; Hunter Donald four; Jackson Eustis three; and Dawson Black and Elijah Craig two each.
The Cougars were 6-of-8 (75 percent) from behind the charity stripe. They had three 3-pointers, one each from Farnham, Phillips, and Eustis.
