HAMPDEN – The Broncos varsity softball team once again received outstanding pitching and clutch hitting to pick up a 4-2 win over Edward Little of Auburn Friday afternoon.

Charlee Chute started in the circle for Hampden going six innings allowing seven hits, two runs, and two balks while striking out 11. Danielle Masterson pitched the final inning picking up the save allowing one hit while striking out two. For the second game in a row Hampden pitching has struck out 13 batters.
Offensively for the Broncos, Masterson (single, 2 RBIs); Maya Brown (run); Cam Neal (triple, single, run); Meaghan Delahanty (2 singles, rbi); C. Chute (single, run); Callie Small (single); E. Chute (rbi); and Emily Bishop (run).
Pitching for Edward Little was M. Scott who went all six innings allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two as well.
At the plate, L. Kelsea (single, run); L. Thibodeau (2 singles); E. Horton (single, run); J. Jalbert (double, single); and E. Cowie (single, rbi).
With the win Hampden Academy moves to 5-2 on the season. They will play a make up game Monday, May 9, at 4:30 p.m. at Hermon High School.
Edward Little falls to 2-6 on the season and will travel to Brunswick on Monday May 9, for a 4 p.m. game.
