BREWER – The Brewer boys JV basketball team was on fire in this one handing the Cougars a 52-22 loss for the ride home.

The Witches led all the way taking a 10-0 lead to open the game and ending the first quarter with a 13-3 lead. Mt. Blue actually outscored the Witches in the second quarter 9-8 to give Brewer a 21-12 halftime lead.
Brewer came back strong in. the third quarter playing solid defense, holding Mt. Blue to four points while talking 17 themselves.
The final quarter was all Brewer again as they outscored the visitors 14-6.
Scoring for Brewer were, Steven Youngs with 14 points; Cayen Philbrick eight; Charlie Bridges six; Cole Harriman, Aiden Harris, Owen Fullerton and Brayden Carr four each; Jake Perry three; Jeremiah Chibuye and Titus Philbrick two each; and Cody Bailey one.
The Witches were 8-of-17 (47 percent) from the foul line and they had one 3-pointer from Brydges.
For Mt. Blue, Nolan Less 10 points; Joshua Greenlaw five; Tyler Abell three; and Preston Ball and Dominic Sawyer two each.
The Cougars were 1-of-3 (33 percent) from the charity stripe.
