BREWER - Thursday afternoon at the Brewer Community School, the William S. Cohen girls overcame a one point third quarter deficit and managed to squeeze out a 24-22 victory over the host Brewer Witches in a "B" level middle school basketball contest.

The Cohen Eagles got four points from Parker Muzzer in the final period to push them over the top, as Brewer's Rylee Bailey scored all five of the Witches points in the period but did not get any help.
Cohen took a 7-3 first quarter lead, but Brewer rallied back in the second quarter to out score the Eagles 8-4 to put the teams at an 11-11 tie at half time.
Brewer again out scored Cohen in the third quarter (6-5), and led 17-16 going into the final period. The Eagles, with huge effort from Muzzer, managed to win the final period 8-5 and take home the 2-point margin of victory.
Josephine Clukey led the Eagles in scoring with eight points, and Muzzer added six points. Gwendalyn Bushnell scored five points, Elodis Enos added three points, and Nara Zlegler had two points. Cohen went 3-for-10 (30 percent) from the free throw line.
Bailey scored a game high 13 points to lead Brewer in scoring. Maddie O'Donnell added six points, Maggie Robichaud scored two, and Alexis Poland chipped in with one point. The Witches went 1-for-2 (50 percent) from the charity stripe.
