HAMPDEN - The Hampden Academy junior varsity boys doubled up the Camden Hills of Rockport Windjammers in the first quarter, and they kept pace with the Jammers the rest of the way for a 52-44 victory at The Stable inside Hampden Academy on Friday night.

Hampden opened the game with a 12-6 first quarter, highlighted by six points from Kamron Tardiff, and that lead proved to be a difference maker in the margin of victory for the Broncos.
The two teams were even up in the second period 11-11, with the Broncos gaining a one point advantage over the third and fourth quarters 18-17 and 11-10 respectively.
Leading the way for Hampden Academy was Kaysen Wildman with 15 points and Tardiff with 14. Nick Bennett added five points, while Kade Bartlett, Will Kelley, and Leo Mlynski each netted four points. Gavin Stewart, Jacob Breton, and Andy Henaghan each added two points.
The Broncos had four 3-point baskets, two by Tardiff and one each from Bartlett and Bennett, and they went 8-for-14 (57 percent) from the free throw line.
Owen Reynolds scored a game high 19 points to top Camden Hills in scoring. Will Duke and Hayden Davis each added nine points, and Thomas Clemente had three. Alexander Todd and Franklin Coffey both chipped in with two points each.
The Windjammers had eight 3-point baskets, three from Reynolds and two each by Duke and Davis with Clemente adding one. They would shoot 6-for-11 (55 percent) from behind the charity stripe.
