Jammer Freshmen overcome strong Hampden team

 HAMPDEN – The Stable at Hamden Academy played host to the Camden Hills Windjammers of Rockport freshmen boys for a season opener with the Jammers taking home a hard earned 48-41 win.

Hampden had this game all the way until the fourth quarter. The young Broncos outscored Camden in the first three quarters, 13-10, 28-21, and 38-34 heading into the final stanza where Camden Hills held the Broncos to three points while pouring in 14 to capture the win. 

Scoring for Hampden were, Benet Moholland with 13 points; Will Runco and Evan Spencer nine each; Kason White with six; and Will Whittaker and Josh Jean-Jaques two.

The Broncos went 6-of-14 (43 percent) from the foul line and they had three 3-point baskets, two from, Runco and one from White.

For Camden Hills, Walker Hedrich with a game high 25 points; Sage Burgess nine; Mason Lanphere six; and Lievan Isrbyt and Teagan Lowe four each.

The Windjammers were 3-of-9 (33 percent) from the foul line and had one 3-point basket from Burgess.
