BREWER – The Brewer 7-8th grade boys of the Brewer Travel Basketball Club hosted Orrington in a season opener for both teams. Led by Brody Hurd, Orrington jumped out to a quick 10 point lead and never looked back as they dominated the boards on both ends of the court on way to a 61-32 win.

Orrington's Hurd led all scores with 35 points in an outstanding performance. Thomas Pelkey added 10, Brady Tiensivu nine, Simon Harriman three, Logan Stephens and Hayden Pepin two each.
Brewer was led by Ayden Barnard with nine points, Cody Hews and James Seymour had seven each. Oliver Higgins added six, and Cooper Charette and Jack Robertson had two each.
If the first game is any indication the Orrington boys led by Hurd are going to be a tough team to compete with. While dominating the boards they also ran the floor well, went to the basket, but could pull up for the jump shot as well.
