BANGOR – There was no sunshine on the field today as the Skowhegan River Hawks dominated play for four quarters to take home the 10-0 season opener. Skowhegan is always a tough team and this season is no different.

Laney LeBlanc of Skowhegan got things started with a goal two minutes into the game with an assist from Eli Quinn. That was the first of her three goals. Layla Conway added four goals for the River Hawks, one in each of the four quarters. Kate Kelso, Quinn, and Nori Tibbetts added one goal each. Conway had two assists while Quinn and Tibbetts added one each

Lydia Lynch was in goal for Bangor and had a hard day trying to cut down the scores. She ended the game with 10 saves. Lanie Vanadestine was in goal for Skowhegan where she had two saves on six shots from Bangor.
Skowhegan had 20 penalty corners, scoring on three of them. Bangor had five.

Bangor will be at John Bapst, Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. for their next match up, while Skowhegan will host Mt. Ararat of Topsham.
