Bronco Travel Basketball Club handles four tournaments in one

HAMPDEN – The Bronco Travel Basketball Club (BTBC) held tournaments this Saturday and Sunday for 5th & 6th grade and 7th & 8th-grade girls. Last weekend was the boys.

The girls 5-6th and 7-8th both had A and B division teams that each played in their own brackets with four championship games played at the end of the day.


from the two semifinal games between Bronco A and Belfast and DEFY vs. Five Town.



Teams playing in the 5th-6th grade A tournament were, Bronco A and B, Oceanside A and B, Bangor, Glenburn, Five Town, Down East Family YMCA (DEFY), Hermon, MDI, Gardiner, Lincoln, and Belfast.

Sunday morning, DEFY defeated Bangor 38-27, Belfast defeated Bronco A 38-24, and DEFY beat Fivetown 51-40 pitting Belfast and DEFY in the A bracket championship game. Score not yet available.

In the B bracket, Hermon defeated Gardiner 25-23, Oceanside defeated Bronco B 43-10. They will play the winner of the Hermon and Glenburn game for the championship

The BTBC used three gyms for this tournament weekend, Hampden Academy, Reed Brook, and Skehan Recreation Center.
