Red Riots overcome early deficit to pull out victory over Huskies in girls summer tournament

HERMON - The Orono Red Riots picked up the pace after falling behind early and went on to grab a 42-34 win over the Lady Huskies from Cabot High School in Cabot, Vermont.

Cabot jumped out to the early lead, and went on top of Orono 11-3 with 9:15 left to play in the opening half. The Red Riots closed out the opening half on an 11-6 run to get back in the game and trail the Huskies of Vermont by just three points (17-14) at the half time break.

The Red Riots started the second half the same way they ended the first half. A 7-1 run over the first four minutes of the final half put Orono on top 21-18, and they never looked back.
