Islanders sweep Coppola in Sunday doubleheader

THOMASTON – The Vinalhaven Islanders continued their dominating play with a sweep of Coppola Sunday in a doubleheader originally scheduled for Saturday, but postponed due to forecasted rain.

Sunday proved to be a better day as the sun was shining and the temperatures were fine for spring softball.

The Islanders took the first game 23-10 and the second game 29-9. Interestingly in both games, Coppola scored six runs in the first inning of each game. However, the bats of the Islander are going to be hard to silence.
