(Photo by Ron Hawkes)BANGOR – At Bangor High school inside the Red Berry Gymnasium the JV and varsity girls were hosting Nokomis of Newport in a pair of games. The Rams came out strong taking a 13-6 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. At the halftime break Bangor held a solid 28-9 lead. The lead kept building as the Rams took a 37-15 lead into the fourth quarter outscoring the Warriors 11-5 for the win. The Class AA Bangor girls go to 4-0 on the season with the win while Class A Nokomis drops to 0-4. Scoring for the Rams was, Mimi Quinn with a game high 14 points and some of the best passing seen this season. Avery Clark and Clara Oldenburg added eight point each; Emily Adams had six; Delany Horr five; Gabby Spreng, Gabby Roy, and Kali Snowden two each; and Ava Syphers one. Bangor was 6-of-16 (38 percent) from the foul line. They knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, one each from Clark and Horr. For Nokomis, Danica Migliore scored 11 points to led the team. Addison Hawthorne had five; and Raegan King and Brylee Beaulieu added two points each. Nokomis was 0-of -2 from the foul line and they knocked down four 3-pointers, three from Migliore and one from Hawthorne. Next up for Bangor is this Saturday, Dec. 23 at Skowhegan with an 11:30 a.m. tip off. For Nokomis they will Travel to Rockport for a game with Camden Hills at 12:30 p.m. also on Dec. 23.
