HAMPDEN – The Hampden girls opened the night with a preview of what was to come, an intense, a well played game from both teams. In the end it was the young Broncos with a 40-39 win in the Stable.

Bangor took a 13-7 first quarter lead, however, it was the second quarter that would become their downfall in the game as Hampden outscored them 17-5 to take a 24-18 lead into the halftime break. The two teams played equally in the third quarter scoring 12 points each giving the Broncos a 36-30 lead going into the final quarter. Bangor did everything they could to catch a break but none were coming there way and even outscoring Hampden 9-4 in the fourth, they still came up just a little short.
Leading the way offensively was Sadie Campbell and Destiney Moores with 11 points each; Maddie Cain added eight; Logan Daigle six; and Caitlin Murphy and Josie Smith two each.
Hamden was 8-of-12 (67 percent) from the foul line and they had two 3-pointers from Campbell.
For Bangor, Emily Adams had 21 points to lead everyone: Mallory Tritt five; Ayzlynn Gifford three; and Kali Snowden, Teagan Atherley, Jaycee Thomas, JaLynn Williams, and Gabby Raymond two.
The Rams were 3-of-6 (50 percent) from the foul line and they also had two 3-pointers, both from Adams.
