BANGOR – The Bangor Rams girls soccer program got off to a quick and successful start to the 2021 season with a solid 6-0 win over visiting Skowhegan Saturday afternoon at Bangor High School.

With five seniors and 10 juniors the Rams are an experienced team with an abundance of speed to put it all together.

Bangor's Emilyn Streams had her first goal at 37:05 in the first period that was blasted past the River Hawks keeper, Reese Danforth, as she came out towards the ball. Three minutes later, at 34:07, Streams carried the ball almost the length of the field before powering another shot into the back of the net for the 2-0 lead.
It was not until the 5:16 mark in the first period that Bangor got a goal from Hannah Sherwood as she beat Danforth to the ball and drove it to the back of the goal. The Rams took a comfortable 3-0 lead into the half time.
Bangor jumped out quick in the second period when Anna Connors scored at 38:57. Streams buried her third goal of the game at 30:42 in the second period to make it 5-0 for the Rams.
Bangor would score one last time at 14:54 when Lily Chandler took a shot from the side that found it's way to the new for the 6-0 win.

Bangor will travel to its biggest rival Camden Hills of Rockport Friday, Sept. 10 with a 3:30 start time for the Varsity and a 5 pm start for JV. This is a game the Rams are looking forward to. Should be a great match up.
