Wagner girls "B" team doubles up Chargers in 4th quarter for win

GLENBURN - The Samuel L. Wagner of Winterport girls "B" level team made it a fourth quarter team effort as they pulled away from the Glenburn Chargers for a 32-21 victory in a middle school "B" team match up at the Glenburn School Tuesday night.

Wagner opened the game with an 8-4 lead, and took a 13-10 lead into half time. They went on to out score Glenburn 7-5 in the third quarter, leaving the host team Chargers trailing by only five points heading into the final period.

Wagner made it a team effort in the final period, as five players, led by Blayne Tardiff with four points, scored to help double up the Chargers 12-6 to put the game away for the 11 point win.

Tardif scored a game high 12 points to lead Wagner in scoring, and Addison Elliot added 10 points. Makayla Shaw had four points, and Brooke Berry, Lily Philbrook, and Jayda Bilodeau each added two points. Wagner went 2-for-7 (29 percent) from the free throw line.

Andrea Crocker had a team high nine points to lead Glenburn in scoring. Hailey Campbell and Ava Paradis each added four points, and Jillian Severance and Grace Labree had two points each. The Chargers went 3-for-12 (25 percent) from the charity stripe.
