The red hot Witches jumped out to a 24-16 first-quarter lead and held a 39-31 advantage at the halftime break. After three-quarters of play, Brewer was still in command with a 54-47 lead heading into the final stanza where they outscored the Windjammers 28-20 to finish the game.
Dylan Huff led the scoring attack for the Witches with 20 points; Aaron Newcomb 19; Trevor Pearson 17; Kyle Goodrich 11; Colby Smith nine; Brady Saunders four; and Gavin Carr two.
Brewer was 11-of-17 (65 percent) from the charity stripe. They had seven 3-pointers in the game, three from Newcomb, and two each from Goodrich and Huff.
For Camden Hills, Jeremy Frazier had 20 points; Aiden Schecter 15; Ryan Clifford 14; Casey Messer eight; Ben Craft six; and Josh Pearse and Skye Abaldo two each.
The Windjammers were deadly from the foul line going 9-of-10 (90 percent) in the game. They had four 3-pointers, all from Frazier.
Brewer will next host the Lawrence Bulldogs of Fairfield Friday night, Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Lawrence beat the Witches back on Jan. 2 70-61 at Fairfield. Since that game, the team has gotten back one of its top players and scores and gone on a 5-of-6 run to go to 9-5 on the season and sit in fifth place in the Maine Principles Association Heal Point Standings. NO. 1 is 13-0 Hampden Academy who was the one team to defeat the Witches in the last six games. Brewer lost by one in an exciting matchup at Hampden.
Camden Hills (4-10) will travel to So. China to take on Erskine Academy Friday, Jan. 24 for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.
