Brewer took a 17-12 first-half lead but Houlton came back steadily in the second half until late in the half they tied the score at 35-35. A few foul shots made for Houlton late in the game and a couple of three's along with some very good defense led them to the 43-40 win.

For Houlton Anna Oliver led the scoring with 12 points; Kaitlyn Kenney 10; Gabby Gentle eight; Grace Brewer four; Lily Brewer three; and Amelia Callnan, Camille Callnan, and Ella McCarthy added two each.

The Shires went 11-of-23 (48 percent) from the foul line and they had two 3-point baskets, both by Oliver.

Brewer's Lauren Voteur has to smile as she just missed a 3/4 court shot that would have been good and it went off the back of the rim. Just a little less energy in the shot and the score would have been tied. It was a really beautiful shot. (Photo by Ron Hawkes)
