Bobcats second half dominance leads to win over Glenburn

GLENBURN - Tuesday afternoon at the Glenburn School, the Caravel Bobcats rallied in the second half to pull out a 48-35 win over the Glenburn Chargers in a boys middle school basketball contest.

The game opened with a mostly defensive first quarter, with Glenburn taking a 6-5 lead. An 11-4 Chargers run in the second quarter put the game at 17-9 with 2:50 left in the period, but the Bobcats closed out the period with a 9-4 run to close Glenburn's lead to 21-18 at half time.

The Bobcats turned the game around in the third quarter, and went on to dominate the game the rest of the way. They out scored Glenburn 30-14 over the second half to come away with the 13 point win.

Jackson McNally scored a game high 13 points and Noah Dupuy added 11 points to lead Caravel in scoring. Aayden Whitten scored eight points, Madden Henderson added six points, and Colvin Hamm had four points. Caleb Desantos, Jacob Gawrych, and Mickey Dunham each had two points.

The Bobcats had one 3-point basket by Henderson, and they went 15-for-22 (68 percent) from the free throw line.

Logan McMahon scored 11 points to lead the Chargers in scoring. Brady Hews and Yates Emerson each added six points, Jonah Pepin scored four points, and Jake Perry had three points. Tony Bisson and Theo Blanke each scored two points, and Dante Paine chipped in with one point.

Glenburn had one 3-point basket by Perry, and they went 4-for-7 (57 percent) from the charity stripe.
