Coyotes field hockey blanks Orono

ORONO - Senior Recognition Day did not go quite as planned for the Orono Red Riots on Monday afternoon, as the Old Town Coyotes played a dominating game en route to a 4-0 victory at Orono High School. Orono celebrated and recognized seniors Krista Bass, Katherine Bettens, and Laura Daumerie.

True Jemynie put the Coyotos on the board with a goal just over 23 minutes into the first half, and followed that goal up with her second of the game with 4:09 to play in the half giving Old Town a 2-0 lead.

With 24:42 left in the game, Maddy Arsenault put the Coyotes on top 3-0. Teagan Blackie scored the final goal of the game with 9:49 remaining to give Old Town a 4-0 lead and eventual winning score.

Old Town goalie Hannah Sirois picked up the shutout making three saves on three Orono shots.

Red Riots goalie Riley Andre had an incredible game, making 10 saves on 14 Old Town shots.

Old Town held the edge in corner shots with 11 to just five for the Red Riots.

The Coyotes will be home against Dexter on Wednesday, October 16 for their final regular season game. Orono will be on the road for their last game as they will play Stearns/Schenck on Thursday, October 17th.
