Rangeley sweeps Vinalhaven in doubleheader played at Camden Hills

ROCKPORT – The Vinalhaven baseball team hosted Rangeley in a doubleheader Tuesday in a pair of games played at Camden Hills in the morning.

Ricky Thompson pitched for Rangeley going five innings in the first game for the 11-0 5-inning mercy rule win. Thompson allowed two hits and a walk while fanning eight.

Thompson also led Rangeley at the plate with two doubles and a single. Kyle Larochelle added a single and two runs.

Elijah Ames toed the rubber for Vinalhaven where he allowed 11 runs on eight hits and five walks with five strikeouts.

Ames and Tim Farrelly had the lone hits for Vinalhaven.

Rangeley scored two runs in the first and nine in the top of the fifth.

The second game was also won by Rangeley 6-2

Vinalhaven played Searsport Wednesday to finish up the regular season.
