Tri Town Slam takes home the 5/6 boys basketball championship

 HAMPDEN – The Bronco Travel Basketball Club held its annual 5/6 grade boys tournament this weekend with Tri Town Slam, A YMCA team made up from Lewiston, Auburn, and Poland, taking home the championship with a 45-38 score over Glenburn 5/6 boys.

Glenburn led 17-14 after the first half, but the shooting went cold for Glenburn and Tri Town got hot at the same time ending in a win for the visitors.

Scoring for Tri Town Slam were, James Neal with 14 points; Presley Neal 10; Colby Dolley and Julian Barajus eight each; and Aston Sullivan five.

The youngsters from the Lewiston area were 3-of-10 (30 percent) from the foul line and they had two 3-point baskets, both from Barajus.

For Glenburn, Griffin Dunton was the game high scorer with 18 points; Zach Helm 11; Kohen Corriveau five; and Caleb Campbell and Jonathan Severance with two each.

The Chargers were 6-of-16 (38 percent) from the foul line and they also had two long distance baskets, one each from Dunton and Helm.
